Appointment Management and Cancellation Policy

Appointment Management and Cancellation Policy

Private and Insurance Patients

Patients are requested to give at least 48 working hours’ notice to cancel a dental appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments represent a significant cost to the practice and it is often overlooked that it also deprives others of sought-after slots. With sufficient notice we can reallocate your appointment time to other patients. We do need to charge a minimum of £80 for missed appointments or those cancelled at short notice. Please note that if cancelling an appointment for a Monday, we would therefore appreciate 48 working hours’ notice to be given by the preceding Thursday morning.

NHS Patients

Cancellation of an appointment or missed appointment by NHS patient notice.

Patients are requested to give at least 48 working hours’ notice to cancel or change a dental appointment for either themselves or any of their children. Many people have been waiting for a long time for NHS appointments and the practice has a governmental commitment to fulfil its allocation .

Therefore, there is a risk that you could lose your NHS space at the practice as we are required to utilise all our NHS allocation.

Please note that if cancelling an appointment for a Monday, we would therefore require 48 working hours’ notice to be given by the preceding Thursday morning.
